Gondia: Independent MLA of Gondia Vinod Agarwal was furious after the electricity supply of a consumer in village Murri near the city was cut off. In a fit of anger, he lashed out at Rajesh Kangale, deputy executive engineer of the rural subdivision. The incident took place on Monday (August 29) around 6.30 pm at Suyartola Sub-Divisional Office. After this incident, all the electrical engineers of Gondia taluka reached Ramnagar police station and demanded to file a complaint. This created a tense atmosphere in the police station for some time.

According to the information received, Larokar, a resident of nearby village Murree, has an outstanding electricity bill of Rs. 11,000 and the electrical engineer went to him on Friday to collect it. He asked for time saying that he will pay the bill on Monday. However, on Monday, he said that he would pay Rs 4,000 of the bill and would pay the remaining amount later, so his electricity supply was cut off. Angered by this. Agrawal Mahavitaran’s sub-divisional office at Suryatola was struck. He slapped the deputy executive engineer who was present there and called him out of his office. Enraged by this, the electrical engineers immediately reached the Ramnagar police station and demanded that a case be filed against the MLAs. Taking this incident seriously, the engineers also started a non-cooperation movement. The agitation will continue until the case is registered and will not be responsible if any problem arises during that time, The engineers gave this warning. However, as no case has been registered in this matter, the action of the Ramnagar police is being questioned.

Demand to file a case

Enraged by this incident, the electrical engineers immediately reached the Ramnagar police station and demanded that a case be filed against the MLAs.

‘There is no question of beating sub-engineers. I went to settle the matter. It was suggested that electricity should not be disconnected by paying Rs. However, there is an attempt to defame me by giving a different twist to this matter.’
