Alert to villagers in flood affected villages

Bhandara News: Heavy rain in Bhandara district in the last 24 hours and Orange alert issued by the Indian Meteorological Department, water released from Dhapewada barrage and water in nearby Gondia district has put the riverside villages of Bhandara district on alert. In this regard, the District Collector recently held an urgent review meeting of all the sub-divisional officers and disaster management agencies.

District Magistrate inspected Kardha bridge of Wainganga river

Speaking on the occasion, District Collector Sandeep Kadam said that it is raining everywhere, he should alert the citizens of 130 river banks and villages of the district.

Citizens should avoid traveling without essential work and also avoid taking vehicles across bridges when it rains. The Tehsildar talked from time to time to give the idea of ‚Äč‚Äčincreasing the flood level in the villages along the river banks to the villagers through public address system.

The District Magistrate has appealed to the public that any information regarding the disaster should be immediately reported to the District Disaster Management Cell.
