Mumbai, July 8: Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut has been given a shocking verdict by the Sewree Court. Shivdi court has issued bail warrant against Sanjay Raut. A court has issued a warrant against Medha Somaiya, wife of BJP leader Kirit Somaiya. A few days back, Sanjay Raut had also mentioned Medha Somaiya while accusing Kirit Somaiya of corruption. It was learned that Somaiya had gone to court in the same case. In the last few days, Somaiya had warned Raut that there would be a major setback in the matter. Eventually, the court issued an arrest warrant, adding to Raut’s woes.
Medha Somaiya had lodged a complaint in the Shivdi court alleging that Sanjay Raut had repeatedly accused her of being a bastard. The court then summoned Sanjay Raut to appear before it. However, as Sanjay Raut was not present, an arrest warrant has now been issued against him.
Sanjay Raut had leveled serious allegations of corruption against Kirit Somaiya and Medha Somaiya. 154 public toilets were constructed in Mira Bhayander city. Raut had claimed that the contract for construction of 16 toilets had been awarded to Somaiya’s wife Medha Somaiya’s Youth Foundation. Mira Bhayander Municipal Corporation officials were deceived by submitting false documents. Somaiya had claimed that he had taken toilet bills of more than Rs 3.5 crore from it.
It is noteworthy that Shiv Sena MLA Pratap Saranaik had raised the issue in the Assembly regarding the allegations made by Sanjay Raut against Medha Somaiya. Later, former environment minister Aditya Thackeray had ordered an inquiry into the matter. Medha Somaiya had filed a defamation suit against Sanjay Raut in connection with the allegations. Raut was then summoned by the Shivdi court to appear before the court. However, a bail arrest warrant has been issued against Raut for not appearing in court.
