French Iconic Filmmaker Jean-Luc Godard dies, takes his last breath at the age of 91

Iconic filmmaker Jean-Luc Godard of the French New Wave has died at the age of 91. Jean-Luc Godard revolutionized cinema in the year 1960 with his very first film ‘Breatheless’. Jean-Luc Godard stood out to the world as one of the most important and provocative directors throughout his career. French media confirmed his death, saying that Jean-Luc Godard breathed his last on Tuesday and his relatives have informed the media about this.

Jean-Luc Godard began his career as a film critic in the 1950s. Along with stepping into the industry, throughout his career, Jean has challenged the tradition going on in the cinema world in different ways. He rewrote the rules of the camera, sound and story to his own accord. His own films gave actor Jean-Paul Belmondo stardom.
Born on December 3, 1930, in Paris to a wealthy French-Swiss family, Jean grew up in Nyon, Switzerland. After graduation, he took a job as a builder on a dam project in Switzerland. The money he earned from this job, he used to invest in his first film ‘Operation Concrete’, released in the year 1954. After this he also started working on the film ‘Breathless’ based on a story by Truffaut. The film was successful at the box office. Not only this, ‘Breathless’, released in 1960, was Jean’s first major success. After that he never looked back.
