When Raju Srivastava got 50 rupees on the first mimicry show in Mumbai, he remembered the days of failure

RAJU SRIVASTAVA NO MORE: Comedian Raju Srivastava died on Wednesday at AIIMS. Raju Srivastava was admitted in AIIMS for almost a month. Raju Srivastava had suddenly collapsed a month ago while exercising on the treadmill in the gym and he had a heart attack during that time. He was hospitalized for the last 41 days and was put on ventilator. In the meantime, he regained consciousness several times and the family members along with the doctors had hoped that he would soon come out of the hospital after recovering safely. But then he got fever and then he could not recover from it again. The brother of Raju Srivastava (Comedian) said that right now he cannot say anything when his body will be taken to Kanpur. However, sources say that the body of Raju Srivastava will be taken to his nephew Mayank Srivastava’s house in Delhi. His last rites can be performed tomorrow at Nigam Bodh Ghat in Delhi.

Raju Srivastava’s neighbor Gyanesh Mishra told that he was very friendly. He never had the pride of success. He was always ready to help people. According to Gyanesh, during 1988-89, when he was spending his days in Mumbai in Muflissi, a man came to him asking for help of Rs 500. He had only 300 rupees at that time and he gave all the money to him. He got only 50 rupees for his first show in Mumbai.

Comedian’s relative and singer Alok Srivastava said that whenever Raju Srivastava used to go to the show, he often used to hide his identity and take experience among the common people. He used to go through the pains and pains of chai walas, paan walas and street vendors and then used to bring them into his character and mimicry as well. His style of connecting with the grassroots characters made him a different personality.

Film and TV artist Mukesh Khanna condoled the death of Raju Srivastava. He said that Raju Srivastava was a very lively person. In the film industry, he reached from the ground to the sky. He also got a lot of fame from the mimicry of Amitabh Bachchan.

Folk singer Malini Awasthi said that Raju Srivastava never did mimicry by insulting anyone. His sense of humor was very different. His stardom ranged from villages to big cities. He was a very grounded actor. He did Main Prem Ki Deewani, Tezaab, Maine Pyar Kiya. He also acted in films like Baazigar, Mr Azad, Aamni Athani Kharcha Rupee, Bombay to Goa.

Comedian Raju Srivastava was born on 25 December 1963. In childhood, he gained popularity through poetry and mimicry at the birthday party. In 1982, he went to Mumbai and in the early days also drove an auto rickshaw. After Sholay, he got headlines with the mimicry of Amitabh Bachchan. After a decade, he got recognition in Bollywood and then he did not look back. Raju Srivastava was made the chairman of the UP Film Development Board. In 2009, he participated in the reality show Bigg Boss. In 2013, he also joined Comedy Nights with Kapil.
