A 20-year-old Hindu girl from Amravati was abducted and then forced into an inter-faith marriage, alleged MP Navneet Rana. Navneet Rana along with his activists stormed the Rajapeth Police Station here demanding that the girl be found and handed over to her family. This time he had a good fight with the police officers.
The Hindu girl is kept in suspense and the suspected accused is in police custody but he is not ready to give any information. The police have also failed to take prompt action. Navneet Rana asked who gave him the right to record his conversation when he called the police inspector of Rajapeth police station to inquire in this regard. At this time, he had a heated argument with Deputy Commissioner of Police Vikram Sali and Police Inspector Manish Thackeray. There is a tense atmosphere in the Rajapeth Police Station.
Meanwhile, BJP’s state spokesperson Shivarai Kulkarni has also blamed the police for inefficiency. Despite the arrest of the suspected accused yesterday, the police have failed to trace the girl’s whereabouts. Kulkarni has warned that if the police do not find this girl immediately, we will have to take the law into our hands and protest.
