Jammu News:- In the city’s New Plot Chowk, the police have arrested a youth for smuggling drug and charas. Police recovered 44 grams of charas from the possession of the accused. To ascertain the quality of the seized charas, its sample has been sent by the police to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) for examination.
A case under NDPS Act has been registered at Pakkadanga police station against Sanjay Kumar resident of Purna Nagar, New Plot, Jammu, who was caught on the charge of smuggling drug and charas. The personnel of the District Police’s intelligence wing, District Police Department (DSB), received strong information that Sanjay Kumar had a consignment of drugs. He is looking for a customer to sell it. On this information, DSB jawans along with Rihari police put up a naka at New Plot Chowk on Monday night. During this, Sanjay Kumar, who was passing by, was signaled by the police personnel to stop. Instead of stopping at the block, he started running from there. The alert soldiers did not allow Sanjay Kumar to escape from the block. He was stopped there. When Sanjay Kumar was searched, a packet was found with him. The narcotic substance was lying inside the packet.
Sanjay was taken to the Rihari police post for questioning. When the charas recovered from the packet was weighed, it took out a total of 44 grams. From the accused, the police is now ascertaining that from where he had brought the charas and to whom he was going to hand it over. Police is collecting information about his associates from Sanjay Kumar, who was arrested for smuggling charas. It is also being ascertained that before this he has not done the work of selling the consignment of drugs.
